LADY DYNAMO - another gutsy performance!

Another win for Victory Syndications was notched up on Saturday 17th December when Lady Dynamo stepped out in the $34,000 0-86 mares Hcp at Morphettville over 1400m.  Slotting back towards the tail of the field in the early stages, Simon Price settled her beautifully before peeling her out and driving her home to win by a nose. 'Daisy' as she's affectionately known has thrived since being under the careful guidance of trainer Jon O'Connor and has really begun to hit her straps this preparation.  Provided all goes well with the 4yo mare, Jon may look to run her in the Star Of Christmas Final on Boxing day over 1400m at Morphettville.  Lady Dynamo has now had 16 starts for 3 wins and 4 seconds - Congratulations to all connections who all received a welcome early christmas present - GO DAISY!!

Zilch & Concecrate discuss their achievements

Summer is well under way and as usual at this time of year, the Griffiths stable is on a roll.

On Saturday (17th December), they saddled up two runners at Bendigo - Consecrate contesting the third event and Zilch the fourth – and both were winners!

And they share something else in common, the two promising three-year-olds hailing from the same family with Consecrate a grandson of the terrific broodmare Mornmoot Lady whilst Zilch is her great granddaughter.

A $55,000 Melbourne Premier graduate selected by Robbie, Consecrate was most impressive saluting at debut – kept safe in the betting and winning in the style of a horse with a bright future.

Settling back in the field, the well named son of Keep The Faith let go a withering run in the straight – quickly gathering in his rivals before racing away to a soft 1.3 length victory.

And it was a win that impressed in-form jockey James Winks who kicked home four of the meeting’s winners including Griffith's double.

“He was a pleasure to ride,” Winks said of Consecrate, “he is a well educated, nice horse.”

“When the gaps came,” he continued, “he was good enough to take them – he put his ears back and really lengthened well. He is a horse going places.”

Bred by Greta West Stud, Consecrate is raced by John McCarthy, Anthony Zoanetti, Trudy Brewster, S Brewster, Deane Lester, Troy Wilson, Hillside Parade Racing & Breeding, Los Jugalores Racing and the Eddie Mick & Me Syndicate.

Also well fancied by punters, Zilch was just as impressive as Consecrate, travelling a little awkwardly and greenly mid-field but really finding the line.

“To her credit when the run came she showed a good turn of foot,” Winks said.

“She got her rhythm going and let down well.”

Early days - 'Daybreak' at Victorian Equine

Another of Robbie Griffiths' three year olds to impress recently is the talented son of Elvstroem-Saturated.  The cleverly named 'Soaked' stepped out last weekend at Moonee Valley to take part in the $100,000 3yo Hcp over 1600m.  Ridden by Craig Newitt, Soaked ran on strongly to be beaten 1/2 length by the Richard Jolly trained 'Alcohol'.

This aspiring youngster has now had 5 starts for 1 win, 2 seconds and a 3rd, taking his earnings to $42,000.

Robbie's keen eye appears to be paying dividends as his 3 year olds head to the track to strut their stuff!
